Testing Requirements for United States Travelers to the UK

US travelers who are not fully vaccinated or cannot show proof of vaccination must still:

  • take a pre-departure COVID-19 test – to be taken in the 2 days before you travel to the UK
  • book and pay for Day 2 COVID-19 tests – to be taken after arrival in the UK
  • complete your passenger locator form – to be completed in the 3 days before you arrive in UK

US travelers who are fully vaccinated and can show required proof of vaccination do not need to:

  • take a pre-departure test
  • take a Day 2 COVID-19 test
  • quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days after you arrive in England

US travelers regardless of their vaccination status must take a return travel test no more than one day before departure to the United States
